Best Seattle outdoor wedding venues
Read MoreOne of my career bucket list items got checked this past weekend: Emerald City Comic Con was in full Geek Chic glory, and I teamed up with Seattle Magazine to feature some of the most epic cosplay I’ve ever seen. The best part? I did double duty in both the photography AND writing the article. Using the journalism background my college-intern-self dreamed of always makes my present day self beam, and I got to work with the best team. Check out the artistry by clicking below!
“We’ve put together a list of must-try experiences from locals that love their Emerald city and think that everyone should add to their bucket list. From savoring the local flavors at Pike Place Market to exploring the vibrant neighborhoods that make this city unique, these are just some of the unique things to do in Seattle that will make you fall in love with the city…”

If you are one (like me) who loves the magic of lush forests, paired with the whimsy of incredible treehouses, then this enchanting and intimate wedding hidden outside of Seattle will make your heart melt. Joy and Cheng are two endlessly special and playful humans, and their vibrance for life shone the whole day: Climbing, laughing, dancing, and even ending the wedding day with a barefoot chase through the woods. This celebration of love is etched onto my heart forever.
There are some people that makes you instantly melt upon meeting them, and Ariel and Dooly are two of those people. Their Guemes Island Resort wedding, completely outdoor and infused with all the Pacific Northwest magic and natural beauty you could ask for, was a favorite wedding experience from this entire season. HIghlights include a waterfront ceremony with a Mt Baker backdrop, and surrounded by rustic cabins, lush woods and space for campfire, all made for the perfect wedding weekend adventure.
Georgetown Ballroom is one of Seattle’s most creative, urban and funky wedding venues, and I loved every second of Katerina and Jimmy’s day. Blue suits, dresses with pockets, a fabulous Irish-American cultural blend of happy tears and laughter all day—what more could you ask for?
Sometimes, it’s best to ditch the city and head to the cascade mountains for a destination engagement photo adventure. Favorite person? Check. Epic views of the the Pacific Northwest? Checkity-check. These two beauties opted for flying into Seattle for their engagement session from California, climbing onto the old trees on Rattlesnake Lake, then a wandering hike up to the iconic view of Rattlesnake Ledge. The cascade mountains have never looked so good.:)
If ever there was the happiest and most fun-filled wedding, this is the one. Lauren and Nick’s fairytale outdoor wedding at Cedar Springs in Port Orchard, WA had my cheeks sore from so much smiling, and the surrounding grounds immersed in the PNW woods made for the perfectly whimsical, magical backdrop. These two radiate joy and love. What a perfect day.
Thornewood Castle is a fairytale-worthy photographer’s dream, and has long been on my wish list for wedding venues in the PNW. Abi and Nick’s gorgeous wedding in this historic hidden gem highlighted their playful love for each other as they wandered throughout hidden nooks for romantic photos in upper levels and throughout the expansive castle gardens—all which made for an elegant, grand, utterly beautiful day. Take a look at the magic.
